SLAM DUNK CREAMY HERB DIP
When I think of March, I think of basketball! Not only are Nathan and I big college sports fans, but it’s just so fun to get together with friends and family to cheer on our favorite teams. I’m here today to show you how to create a simple basketball bash with some yummy game day snacks you and your guests will enjoy while celebrating and watching the tournament.
WHAT TO WEAR TO A SPRING WEDDING
March is here, which means its officially Spring! In fact, as I am sitting here typing this, I have the windows open because its a sunny 70 degrees today! Spring also means that wedding season is right around the corner! For me, Spring weddings are always a bit of a challenge….especially living up north where the weather is nothing short of temperamental. That means it can be super chilly in the morning, hot in the afternoon, and cold again in the evening once the sun goes down, which makes shopping for events like weddings a little difficult sometimes!
WEDDING DAY GLAM: A HAIR + MAKEUP Q&A
When I first started thinking about the hair and makeup for my wedding day, I didn’t really know where to begin. I’m not really a maintenance kind of girl….I hate getting a pedicure, I have never tried eyelash or hair extensions, and I can count the times on one hand that I’ve gotten a spa treatment. So I felt like I had a TON of questions about not only for the day-of the wedding, but also how to appropriately prepare in the months leading up to the big day.
CELEBRATING FAMILY TRADITION WITH GRANDMA’S GOULASH
Some of my most treasured recipes are those that have been passed on to me by my family, in particular my grandmother. When I think back to our time together, most of my memories center around the kitchen. Her pouring me a bowel of cereal while she drank black coffee in the morning, fixing grilled bologna and cheese sandwiches and always knowing I wanted extra sweet pickles on the side, and sharing family dinners around the old oak table reminiscing about times past.
PROBLEM PORES NO MORE!
One of my most annoying skin concerns has always been the pores on my nose. I wouldn’t say they are necessarily large, but they do tend to hold a lot of dirt and get clogged easily. I try to keep up with weekly exfoliating and the occasional mask, but it never seems to make much of a difference. I feel like I usually resort to popping and picking ( I know, I know…big skincare NO NO) but it’s the only method that actually visibly unclogs my pores. UNTIL NOW! Recently I started using two products that have made a huge difference for my pores and blackheads on my nose.
DIY GROOMSMEN PROPOSAL GIFT BOX
I think one of the best parts about getting married is being able to share that big, memorable day with some of my closest friends. These guys have been with me through the best and worst times, and I couldn't imagine having anyone else beside me for one of the biggest days of my life! So for my groomsman proposal (for the record, this was Sam’s initial idea but I’m not gonna lie…I kinda got into it), I put together a fun box full of some of their favorites and a couple of personalized pieces as well.
5 IDEAS FOR HOSTING THE ULTIMATE GALENTINE’S DAY PARTY
In my opinion, Galentine’s Day is one of the best made up holidays ever, and it is right around the corner! It’s celebrated on February 13th, the day before every one’s most loved, or most despised, holiday of love. Say what you may, I just can’t help but enjoy the idea of what this holiday is based upon. I mean, why shouldn’t our dearest friendships be celebrated? Like the quote on the heart above, we should “be each others’ personal hype woman” !! Galentine’s Day is about community, togetherness, and women celebrating other WOMEN!
VANILLA BUTTER MELT AWAY COOKIES
I recently made these Vanilla Butter Melt Away Cookies for a Galentines event I attended, and they were a huge hit! They have a perfectly crunchy outside and soft, melt in your mouth center. Plus the homemade icing gives a nice little extra touch of sweetness! I made the icing in varying shades of pink, which I thought would be cute for our get together and also added some festive sprinkles... because who doesn’t love cute heart shaped sprinkles?!?
SPINACH, FETA + SUN-DRIED TOMATO EGG MUFFINS
With our wedding being 5 months away, Nathan and I are fully committed to looking and feeling our best for our big day! I’ve always been a big believer that feeling good starts on the inside, with the types of foods you choose to fuel your body. With our super busy schedules, that’s not always so easy. That’s why we love these Mediterranean inspired, protein-packed egg muffin cups. They are tender, moist, full of flavor, and also very portable for those days when you are constantly on the go!
10 TIPS FOR CREATING THE BEST WEDDING REGISTRY
Depending on who you ask, building a wedding registry can either be the most fun or the most daunting wedding task. In my opinion, creating our wedding registry has been one of the most fun wedding “to-do’s”…mainly because Nathan and I were able to do it together! Nathan might not be too invested in the flower arrangements or party favors, buy my guy loves a good kitchen appliance so he was all for sitting down and creating a list together. Plus, what’s not fun about telling your guests EXACTLY what is on your wish list (I wish I could do this for every holiday, birthday, etc.). But for some people, creating this list might seem a little off-putting. After all, it can be difficult sorting through what items you THINK you need versus items you’ll never use, plus items for your FUTURE. At the end of the day, this wish-list is meant to help you and your future spouse build a beautiful life together, not to overwhelm you, That’s why I’ve put together my 10 TIPS FOR CREATING THE BEST WEDDING REGISTRY!
A HOLIDAY SOIREE WITH THE BLUEGRASS BLOGGERS
When Nathan and I moved to Lexington 10 months ago, we didn’t know anyone. We were a newly engaged couple, with a cute little pup, trying to create a life together after having a long-distance relationship for two years! We both were excited to move to a new place, and had heard that the small city, hometown feel of Lexington would be welcoming but I will admit, it was still a little daunting not knowing a single person.
CRESCENT WRAPPED BRIE WITH FIG JAM
We are right in the midst of the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, which means both hosting and being a guest to all the holiday parties. I love to cook as much as the next person, but I don’t always like to spend hours in the kitchen..especially if I am personally hosting an event or dinner. I’m too much of a social butterfly to be stuck in the kitchen. So when a group of 15 Kentucky bloggers came together to host a holiday event at Jeptha Creed Distillery , I knew this appetizer would be absolutely perfect.
