If you know Nathan and I, then you know we LOVE Trader Joe’s! We first discovered this store while living in Columbus, OH, and have been hooked ever since! Trader Joe’s ( or for us groupies, TJ’s) is known for their quirky items, great selection of health foods and affordable prices; but once the cooler weather hits, they are most well know for what we like to call PUMPKIN PALOOZA! If you aren’t familiar, this is basically the mother-load of all things PUMPKIN, and they release a ton of seasonal favorites, many of which can only be found this time of year. So Nathan and I thought it would be fun for us to each share with you our top 5 Trader Joe’s Fall Favorites. So put on your best plaid shirt, brew up a Pumpkin Spice Coffee, and follow along for our top picks!
NATHAN’S TOP 5 PICKS
Normally I feel so-so about these hard cookies, but this version is pretty good. The hint of pumpkin and spices is a nice touch to your basic biscotti. Pro-tip: if you’re really feeling real basic, dip these bad boys into your pumpkin spice coffee or pumpkin rooibos tea!
All the goodness of a regular toasted-oat cereal, but with semi-pumpkin flavor! I wouldn’t say the pumpkin taste is that noticeable, but the box says they are made with pumpkin, so I’m going to believe them lol. Pour this in a bowl with a splash of almond milk, and its like taking a step back to your childhood, when eating a bowl of cereal in front of morning cartoons was acceptable (even though I think it still is lol).
PUMPKIN SPICE ROOIBOS HERBAL BLEND TEA
I’m not gonna lie, I like myself a good cup of tea at night, and this kind is pretty tasty! Sam normally makes it for me and adds a couple drops of Stevia and a splash of almond milk. Its a nice sweet treat after dinner! Oh and take it up a notch by dipping your Pumpkin Biscotti in the tea!
FALL ZUCCHETTE PASTA + AUTUMNAL HARVEST CREAMY PASTA SAUCE
Theres something about fall that makes me start craving comfort food, and this pasta/sauce combo hits the spot. Its your classic pasta dish, with a hint of pumpkin flavor that is noticeable but not overwhelming. Plus the pasta is shaped like squash-so I guess thats kinda cool too right?
PUMPKIN ICE CREAM
This is easily my favorite pumpkin item available at TJ’s. I think they may have it year-round, and I’m more than happy to eat it all year too, because its just that good. It’s pretty much like eating the best pumpkin pie you’ve ever had- but in ice cream form. Hands down one of my all time favorites. Do yourself a favor, and get a carton (or two), turn on some Netflix and go to town! Your tastebuds can thank me later.
SAM’S TOP 5 PICKS
This seems to be a TJ’s cult-favorite and seasonal staple, and after seeing so many people rave about it, I just had to pick it up and try for myself. I’ll admit it may not be the most eye appealing piece of home decor ( I hid mine behind our TV console lol), but it sure does smell good! I love walking into the door and instantly being greeted by the warm smell of cinnamon and fall spice!
PETITE PUMPKIN SPICE COOKIES
I like to have a few of these ( and by a few, I mean I could easily eat the entire box) as a sweet treat at night! Its like your traditional shortbread cookie with a hint of pumpkin spice, plus you can’t ever go wrong with yogurt frosting in my book!
PUMPKIN TORTILLA CHIPS + FALL HARVEST SALSA
Chips and salsa are one of my all-time favorite snacks so when I saw this combo, I knew I had to try it! I was a little skeptical of the pumpkin tortilla chips but they are really good! They are more along the lines of a traditional tortilla chip, sprinkled with spices like cinnamon and nutmeg, and not too overpowering in pumpkin flavor! Adds a nice little fall twist to the traditional chips and dip!
PUMPKIN SPICE ALMOND BEVERAGE
I love making my own pumpkin spice lattes at home, and I thought this almond milk would be perfect to add to my recipe! Traditionally I just use plain almond milk, but this adds an extra hint of pumpkin to my lattes or regular cup of coffee!
PUMPKIN RECIPE DOG TREATS
When rounding up my favorite pumpkin finds, I couldn’t forget about Reggie! We always keep his treat jar stocked with all different sorts of goodies, and I figured we should add a little bit of fall goodness for him too! Plus pumpkin is actually really good for dogs digestive system!
So there ya have it, our top fall picks from Trader Joes! Do you have a fall favorite that we missed? We’d love to hear about what pumpkin goodies you are loving right now in the comments below!
